In Memory of Bonny Jacobs, a Furnace for a Women's shelter
When Pretty Bird Woman House purchased its house in February (due to the generosity of the netroots, btw) it was not aware that the furnace was on its last legs. It has sufficient federal grants for operating expenses, but they do not cover this kind of cost.
Since Senator Biden's wife just lost her mother, we thought it would be fitting to buy the furnace in her memory, given that Senator Biden wrote the Violence Against Women Act, which funds women's shelters around the country.
Given the number of people out there, even small contributions will quickly add up to a warm winter for battered women on the Standing Rock Reservation, and a wonderful gift in honor of Senator Biden's family.
